Being Born
It starts in the fall. Managing when the ewes mate – trying to time them all at about the same time -makes managing lambing in the early spring easier. Knowing when to start expecting our “spring deliveries’, we do multiple lambing checks per day to ensure successful delivery.
Their first weeks
Giving mom a break, we keep our ewes and their little bundles of joy in a cozy barn for some recovery time. Weather will dictate how soon we decide to let them join the other happy families in the field.
Growing Naturally
Lambs can be weaned between 60 to 90 days and go straight to grass. They will grow with the herd until they are Hoggets and are ready for us to market.
